The uppers are assembled, shaped and glued on to stiff outer plates, a semi-rigid â&amp;#128;&amp;#152;lasting boardâ&amp;#128;&amp;#153; is bonded into the inside to cover up the rough edges, and itâ&amp;#128;&amp;#153;s all capped with a soft insole. Pearl Izumi is doing things differently with its new Pro Leader III shoes, however, with some impressive claimed performance benefits as a result.</b><br />

Better still, because most of the rolling resistance comes from the rear tyre you can stick quick rubber on and go faster for less effort without necessarily sacrificing the crucial corner and braking grip from the front.<br />
