I don't know if anyone on here has done it but I got roped into it with the wife. In a nut shell is like the paleo thing with more restrictions. So far this is day 3. Here is a recap so far.

Day 1: Easy and wonder why this is even a "diet"

Day 2: Thought I was good and did a 65mi ride with few co-workers. Turned out to be a world of suck. Only thing I could eat on the ride was larabars, raisins, and bananas. Not my usual ride food so cramped up. Good thing this was just a fun ride and testing of this new nutrition change. Ended rest of day with a headache.

Today: Feeling better today but still low on energy. Having an excuse for having lots of steak, eggs, and potatoes is great for me. Still drinking lots of water to keep headache away.

I'll post up things from time to time so if anyone is interested in how it goes

Good luck @IRanWithScissors ! I know some co-workers doing it as well. Personally, I think it's crazy to do any endurance sport on a severely carb restricted diet. Your body will surely acclimate, but I think it's a swimming up stream type deal when training/riding on these diets. That said, you'll definitely drop some lbs:) Have fun and good luck.

Careful with those low carb diets. Everyone on here who's done those is dead (or doesn't post here anymore).

Ya I need to drop some extra poundage that has been lingering. I don't know if I would consider it a "low carb" thing though. It mainly focuses on all sugars, grains, legumes, and dairy. The rules forces your typical pasta, bread, etc out but all potatoes, eggs, and fruits are open game.

If that's the case carry a ziploc of 'dates' with you. They are basically giant raisins and very popular among vegan cyclists. Apparently they are like natural gels.

I haven't eaten them alone but the larabars I mentioned is made up of at least 50% dates and come in pretty good flavors. I'll have to pick up a bag of them next time I see them at the store

o 10 days in and still good. Logging some more intense rides now. Feeling good and I cheated and checked out a scale (you're not supposed to weight yourself during but just beginning and end). So far after just a little over a week I'm down 16lbs. Crazy since I am still eating the same amount of food. Really makes me think of the stuff I was eating before. I thought I was eating healthy but I guess there is still some added junk I don't need.

On the bike hasn't suffered as I just logged my fastest times today even after stopping for some hikers.

    20 days to go...
