I NEED it. My kids bikes are getting too big to put in the back of the car and my 1-1/4" rack will only carry 2.

    Transit Connect. Problem solved.

Save a few bucks and go with the LWB van version - you can easily fit 4-5 lawn chairs back there... and no pesky seat belts to get in the way.

    Hey! That's my joke!

Oh wait, did you mean "painters" and "frugal, practical individuals who like fuel economy, nice cargo capability and don't mind a somewhat unconventional vehicle choice, even though they know they'll take a small amount of flack for it, mainly from said individuals wife"?

That looks like the pre-2014 cargo area. The 2014 cargo area is a bit longer, but shorter:

The '14+ is a better choice than pre-14. Bigger engine, better fuel economy, better cabin ergonomics and it doesn't look *quite* as ugly (it's close though). The cargo area in both is very functional... lots of space, lots of tie downs, lots of bolt holes. It's no speed demon (4-cyl vs 3500 lbs) but acceleration is surprisingly adequate, as is handling. You can get the van version (as opposed to the wagon version) pretty cheap (I think I paid 22 for mine). I think they're catching on... for the first 6 months I owned it, I could literally count the number of '14s that I saw on the road on one hand. Now they seem to be all over the place.

Of course that's what I meant!!

No clue what T is talking about. I am guessing that is the type of van that took his azz when he was a kid. I bet he fell for the "What some candyyyy lil' boy!?"

yeah, this would be great, but old people mover is first priority and we've done extensive regress and exit testing. It will be weekend use car for the most part.
