Yetti was working in San Francisco and he decided to pop over two weekends ago to do some snow stuff. We met in Heavenly and boarded Kirkwood. I returned home like normal after the weekend parked, locked car and went to my apt. Two days later when I was headed to lunch my car was missing. I started checking around. Nope the apt didn’t tow it. Nope the tow company didn’t tow it by accident so a call to the police, auto insurance company and renters insurance company. “Yes the car was locked” and “oh yea my spare key was in the glove box.” I lose them. A lot. It takes a long time to settle these things so I have rent a car insurance and I took them up on the offer for a rental. Started searching for new vehicles because if this were Houston my 2 ½ old Subaru with 29000 miles on it would be in all of it’s parts in Mexico by now and just about on its way back to the US as parts. Anyhoo this car is the replacement for the 4 year old Subaru that got flooded out in the 2015 Memorial day floods in Houston and I really wasn’t looking to take ANOTHER loss so soon. Little stressed about that. Today about noon my time a week later, the police call and say my car was towed from the apartment complex RIGHT NEXT DOOR. I’m going over the condition of the car with the officer and detailing all of the items in the car and he tells me the condition of the car is very good and it looks like everything is still there. Crazy. I jump in the rental and head over… The car is in the exact same condition it was when it was taken last week. Also almost everything is still in there. My snowboard, helmet, battery jumper everything. The only thing that appears to be missing is about $10 in quarters and my gopro. That’s it. Still trying to process but also not trying to over think good fortune….
I think it was a couple of kids who got really really high, couldnt walk to Del Taco so they decided to steal a car.
Isn't there a Tsunami headed your way? Dude! With that kind of luck, you definitely need to be buying MegaMillions and/or Powerball lottery tickets!
I'm surprised they didn't find what's left of that car in Fresno. And FYI, they don't find the stolen and gutted cars here in Mexico. They find them on the east side of town. Cops told my buddy that when his truck was stolen with his dog in it. They found the truck 3-4 hrs later on the east side in a field - gutted.
Isn't that because they drive the wheels off of the cars? Whats that old joke, why where there only 10,000 Mexicans at the Alamo? Because they could only get two pickup trucks to start!
Oh haiii! Do you have keyless entry (I don't know what it's called where you keep the key in your pocket and just open the door?)
sounds more like you had a REALLY REALLY GOOD PARTY and parked in the wrong place So how did they get into the locked car?
