That sucks. Does evilBay still offer escrow services? That would be the way to avoid all the PITA stuff for anyone selling expensive items. Once they take inspect and take delivery from escrow agent it should be a done deal. If it they don't accept and it gets shipped back at least you're only out shipping costs.
just got off the phone with ebay i'm screwed they will place a hold on my pay pal account once i release the funds when i get the bike back then i'll re-list the parted out bike and whatever proceeds i get will be paid to pay pal till my $5600 balance is paid off they are refunding me my ebay and pay pal fees i paid so that should lessen the blow. anyone know where i could get the matt black clear coat painted it's just a few scratches on the frame? can't believe that he turned down $500 to fix the scratches he claimed that the frame was totaled WTF???
this was the venge the epic i sold went off with out a hitch and so has all the 208 selling transactions i've had in the last 12 months somehow i believe this guy is a total fred and has no clue about carbon fiber bikes or paint. you would think that with $250 or $350 and finally $500 you could find someplace somewhere to refinish and repaint an area less than the size of business card matt clear coat apparently he was led to believe that $950 was the lowest he could go even though the most expensive repair from calfee is $400 bottom line this guy didn't want to have a rational conversation or even negotiate a sensible resolution his whole goal was to get a new bike from ups then when that didn't work out shake me down for $1000 any reasonable person would of made an effort to have this issue fixed it was always "my way or nothing"
so,,, are you parting out the Venge? Let's see a parts list. I might know someone looking for a Quarq.
KIA, I am really sorry to hear about evilBay (I like that term). That is such a hack job they pulled on you and it is why I stopped selling. Mine wasn't $5600 but I did have a buyer get remorse on an $800 and so I was out shipping and other fees and I was pissed!
Things I may be interested in: 1. Wheels - if clincher, not interested in the work for tubular 2. Quarq - but Don gets first dibs 3. Shifters and derailleurs Any thought on price?
the wheels are clinchers i'm gonna have to do some research on a few things if i play it right my starting/asking price will be enough to get my $5600 back normally if i do it right that starting price is much lower than folks asking price on items like wheels and stuff i kinda want to see exactly what condition this bike is in because i have no idea where it was for the last two months.
I know how you feel. When I got my wheels back from my idiot he had broken 2 spokes and didn't return the skewers.
