http://www.ebay.com/sch/wrm4865/m.html? ... 7675.l2562 the beginning price you see is the "local buyer" price you get if you want any thing let me know otherwise eBay auction is what you get.
bike stuff around our house has maybe a 12 to 18 month lifespan at most zero sentimental value on bikes
The S-Works Crux frameset did not sell neither did the S-Works epic 29er I'm gonna re-list em' on Sunday but will offer them up here first at a substantial discount that i will not offer on eBay. S-Works crux http://www.ebay.com/itm/321055539844?ss ... 1560.l2649 $650 CASH S-Works epic http://www.ebay.com/itm/271138044157?ss ... 1560.l2649 $4350 CASH
Can't believe the Epic didn't sell. That's a killer price for a bike like that, but they just don't seem to be moving right now.
2011's were going for $5500 to $7500 all summer long and into the fall I've got a potential buyer lined up if that falls through i'll put it back on ebay again.
yeah he is a known quantity on eBay he bottom feeds no reserve bike sales and then takes the bikes apart and resells them he bought my flash 29er and stripped it and sold it a year ago. I like how he even resells the used esi grips yeah you make more money with stripping the bike and selling it off in pieces but it's also a giant pain in the ass dealing with packing and shipping and the ebay and pay pal fees and everything. i used to do it all the time but after i sold 50 individual pieces on eBay a few years ago and having to pack address ship get tracking numbers and hassles dealing with usps and ups and cranky buyers. my enthusiasm for eBay is waning due to a lingering a-hole buyer that's has been a pain in the ass going on two months trying to shake me down for $1000 to fix a $100 scratched paint fix by calfee after UPS denied his claim for a new frameset so he goes after me.
Wow, sorry about that KIA. Now I feel really bad about my post about your bad buyer. I had a bad seller but in my case it wasn't scratched paint, it was a bike that was totally destroyed by UPS and UPS never even delivered it to me. They realized they fucked up and sent it back to him so I never saw it other than pictures. Oh, and I can completely understand your feeling on eBay as a seller. I still go there as a buyer from time to time but with eBay fucking the sellers every chance they get the prices have been going up so the deals are not nearly as good as they used to be.
oh this is a nightmare i had the bike packed by west end took a photo of the box before it was shipped paid extra for insurance and the box shows up looking like it was dragged down a rough road the frame had some scratches on the lower seat tube smaller in and area of a business card he asked for my info so he could file a claim with ups. apparently they declined...i offered him $250 and links to four frame painters to match the matte clear coat this should cover the paint and shipping etc...he comes back and wants $950 i contact ebay and also file a complaint against him since he has been harassing me for two months they (ebay) suggest i file a claim i did and ups denied that one also. once again i offer him $250 to fix the superficial scratches now he wants either a full refund Aka buyers remorse or $750 as his final offer i come back with the calfee link he provided and showed him that for $100 they will refinish and repaint the scratch "class 1" damage and i even up the offer to $300 i find out last night he filed a buyers claim with ebay. i feel pretty good that i've done more than enough to solve the issue that ups doesn't want to and he has been hostile and intimidating in his emails to me where as i've been nice and offered solutions (it's better to wait a few hours to answer as to not get the emotions involved more than once I've wanted to tell him to just eat-sh*t and f*ck off) i've been on ebay since 99' and have over 1400 positive feedback and considered a power-seller with 4.5 stars for shipping this guy was a problem from the get go took him five days to pay then he demanded that i wait to ship because of his busy schedule then it's been downhill from there...
Holy carp!! That is nuts. I had a guy essentially have buyers remorse on an I9 wheelset I sold. Eventually I was forced by eBay to return his money and when I got the wheelset back he had broken two spokes and never returned the Crank Brothers skewers. Since then I don't sell on eBay. I have a whole new level of respect for anyone willing to put up with the BS. On the flip side though I have run into a few deadbeat sellers - thankfully that has been rare though.
i bought a set of brand new mavic cross max 29er wheels still had the tags on them with the skewers in the sealed plastic bag no cassette had been on the freehub. these sat in a closet for over a year till i realized that i was not gonna use them for a project bike so i sold them for $660 on ebay as soon as the buyer got them he claimed they were damaged yet could not provide and evidence then he said they were factory rejects this was a severe case of buyers remorse and he wanted all his money back however when he filed a claim against me ebay went back through all his emails even the ones that he sent me before he bid so there was full disclosure on everything. i looked at his ebay buying habits and found out that his wife was the main buyer on there unless he was into doll collectibles and other women type hobby stuff nowhere did i ever see any bike stuff purchases i'm thinking he must of had an older bike 26" and didn't realize these were 29" wheels and rather than being honest where i might of refunded him his money he wanted to harass me. ebay has somewhat chilled out on screwing over sellers in the past they would always always side with the buyer no matter what.
Well that is good to hear. In any case, I think I am sticking to selling things to friends. That way they can check it out and buy if they like it. No hard feelings, no eBay and PayPal "cut," or any other non-sense.
looks like eBay sided with "Mr.Buyersremorse" and I'm getting the bike back and now scratching my head on where i'm gonna magically get $5600 for the refund...
Wowzzzzers! That was one of my biggest fears for sellign on Ebay. I've got a few things I need to put out there to sell but luckily none are over $500.
The guy was a pain in the ass from the get go I truly believe he didn't want the bike in the first place he was the only bidder and it took him five days to finally pay. mysteriously the bike box shows up to his house looking like it had been drug down a dirt road with holes in it and him claiming it was just thrown in the box and not packaged properly even though I had cody at WE pack it. it had some superficial damage = scratches less than the size of a business card that he was crying about and wanted to file a claim with ups about so i gave him my info and he unsuccessfully filed a claim then a few weeks later he started hounding me to pay for the damages i offered $250 the came back with $950 I then filed my own claim that ups denied then i re-offered him $250 he came back with threats and demanding $750 i filed a sellers complaint (which doesn't mean shit i just found out) i made a final offer of $350 he responded by filing a case against me 8 weeks exactly from the purchase date. eBay took the easy way out and instructed him to send the bike back i made a final offer of $500 he answered that the scratches were severe enough that $500 was a joke and he was shipping the bike back. i've had two long calls to ebay customer support and being a ebay seller for 12 years with 100% positive feedback and 1400+ positive feedbacks and a "power seller" don't mean jack squat when a buyer can extort and shake you down i have had 9 cases filed against me in the last 12 years ALL of them were from buyers that were as full of shit as this guy was making up false crap and everyone was dismissed by ebay in my favor this one i bent over backwards for this guy and even ebay stated that his monetary demands were extreme however they can't offer partial refunds. i about blew a fuse but they just circle back with their boiler plate speech that makes zero logical sense their policy is the buyer is god and the sellers can go f*ck themselves even though the fees they collect are from the sellers!!!
How many S-works bikes do you have around the house? And what kind of truck do you drive? And don't you have a camper that goes in it? Unless you're drowning in credit card debt you oughtta be able to pull $5600 out of your hat...
what do you think offset the cost of new toys? i don't keep bikes for sentimental value that bike was sold and part of the proceeds were used to by it's replacement yeah i got the "cash" to pay the refund that doesn't mean that i feel that it's right and now i have to re-list and resell the bike to try and make up the "cash" that I was not expecting to have to cough up. what do you think happens to folks that don't have the money to refund something like this? It wasn't like the guy filed the claim or asked for a refund just a few days after receiving the bike when the money had not been spent yet he waits two months to file a claim knowing that the money was long gone. i'm basically gonna tell ebay that i don't have the cash and i'm gonna have to re-sell the bike and whatever proceeds i get from that will be used to pay the refund since they refund out of their account then go after the seller for the refund amount. i'm beyond pissed about this transaction and how i'm the one that is out ebay seller fees paypal fees and shipping and packing costs and now have to deal with the hassle of trying to re-sell this bike. i'm gonna part it out hopefully that way it will get me more than $5600 and either sell the frame with the scratches in it or pay to get it refinished and painted on the scratched area this whole thing has soured me on ebay once this bike and a few other items i have is sold i'm done with dealing with ebay
I'll take the damaged frame for $250... This sucks KIA, that's one of the reasons I always buy to keep and sell to people I know and trust. Lessons learned in 10yrs of bike shop retail have stuck with me for life. People are assholes and often have buyers remorse.
