For some background, pre-cycling I used to squat twice a week (3x5 @ 260-295) and do deadlifts once per week (2x5 @ 360-405).       <content:encoded><![CDATA[I&#039;ve been on structured, power based training blocks since August and I&#039;ve seen huge gains in my performance and general &#039;feel&#039; on the bike (thanks to coach <a href="http://noisyhubclub.com/index.php?members/361/" class="username" data-user="361, @jek007">@jek007</a>). However, one thing i&#039;ve noticed in my first few races is how bad my lungs/throat feel during and following the race. The best way to describe it is a burning feeling, like the lining of my lungs and throat are being perpetually scratched. In 2008 I raced one Cat 1 race, Cameron Park Waco, and placed 13th out of 24 I think (I did pass the Gov in that race but he was feeling bad).  Ever since I have been dreaming about a &quot;Manster Comeback&quot; as I slowly got fatter and slower.   4 weeks ago I weighted 256, today I weight 244 lbs.   Last Friday I rode the 1/2 marathon distance at Comfort against a stop watch and finished with a 2:20 which would have placed me 8th in the race...<br />

I have had a few of the videos for a couple years now and just picked up a couple new ones.  They have really improved their production quality. The one I wanted is called &quot;to get to the other side&quot; and is moderate intensity simulated climbs but it came bundled with a simulated race one called &quot;The best thing in the world&quot;. <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Anyone doing anything with HRV?  I&#039;ve been playing with this for over a week now just seeing what it&#039;s all about and if it has any value for me.  It&#039;s actually pretty interesting.  In essence you measure your HR for 2 and a half minutes each morning and the measurement will tell you if you&#039;re fresh or not.  Seems to be pretty simple.  <br />

For those of you with the kickr, you now have the ability to run ERGVideo software - some of the greatest trainer software made.  This has been available for computrainer for some time but now they&#039;ve finally updated it and ported it over for the kickr.  This software is not cheap but it helps make the trainer sessions alot more engaging.  <br />
